Don't judge a book by its cover

I do get very involved with my characters when I am writing; even if it is just a short story. I think the next book I publish is going to be Tea Break Tales, a collection of short stories, all very different to each other. I haven't yet published any of the Connie Armitage books; one is ready to go and a second needs editing and there is a third kicking around in my head. The only thing my books have in common is that they are character driven and as readers get to know the characters they imagine the settings they are in, what they look like, what they are wearing. I don't go in for a lot of scenic description when I am reading and I have the same approach when I write.
The blogposts from the characters in the Coronawar series are keeping them very much alive for me and the posts are really short monologues giving their take on events in the books. They say you should never judge a book by its cover which I find a little odd frankly as the cover is the first thing to catch your eye and everyone impresses on writers how important it is to have a good cover. However, maybe Danny Black's take on things will change your opinion of him. https://minisopaopera.blogspot.com/2020/07/sad-not-bad.html
